ChartRecap

ChartRecap tutorials

Short, practical walkthroughs of the whole workflow — from your first snapshot to a reviewable edge. Each one is a couple of minutes.

01

Getting started with ChartRecap

1:55

Create a free account, personalize your dashboard, and take your first chart snapshot — the whole loop in under two minutes.

  1. 1Sign up free with Google or email — no card, instant access.
  2. 2Pick a few symbols you trade so your dashboard isn't blank.
  3. 3Set your timezone so trade times and the calendar are accurate.
  4. 4Hit Snapshot to capture your first chart — it becomes a journal entry.
  5. 5Open Analytics to see your stats start to build.
02

Capture a chart from TradingView (Alt+S)

2:25

Journal the exact chart you're looking at on TradingView in one keystroke — symbol, timeframe, and candle attached automatically.

  1. 1In TradingView, set up the chart for the trade you took.
  2. 2Press Alt+S to copy the chart's snapshot link.
  3. 3In ChartRecap, paste the link into the capture box (or use the browser extension for one-keystroke capture).
  4. 4Confirm the parsed symbol/timeframe and save it to your journal.
  5. 5Link the snapshot to the trade so the chart context stays with it.
03

Log and review a trade

3:05

Record a trade with entry, exit, stop, and your playbook rules — then see plan-vs-execution scoring and what discipline cost you.

  1. 1Click 'Log trade' and enter symbol, direction, entry, exit, size, and stop.
  2. 2Pick the playbook/setup and check off which rules you actually followed.
  3. 3Add a setup grade and how you felt (calm, rushed, revenge…).
  4. 4Save — your R-multiple and P&L compute automatically.
  5. 5Open the trade to see plan-vs-execution adherence.
04

Read your analytics

6:04

Tour the Recap Score, equity curve, win/loss, expectancy, the discipline guardrails, and your streak on Analytics — then open Reports for the filterable breakdowns that show which setups actually pay.

  1. 1Open Analytics — the Recap Score summarizes win rate, profit factor, consistency, and drawdown control.
  2. 2Read the equity curve and the win/loss split.
  3. 3Check the Discipline guardrails: no-stop trades, max-loss breaches, and your streak.
  4. 4Open Reports for the filterable breakdowns — performance by setup, tag, day of week, and hour.
  5. 5Filter by date, account, and symbol to compare live, paper, and funded without blending them.
05

Import trades from your broker

1:46

Bring in your history via CSV (IBKR, Thinkorswim, Webull, Schwab, moomoo) or a SnapTrade connection (Pro) — trades import as fills so scaled positions stay accurate.

  1. 1Export a trades/orders CSV from your broker.
  2. 2In ChartRecap, choose 'Import broker CSV' and pick your broker (or use the moomoo importer).
  3. 3Map the columns if prompted, then preview the detected trades.
  4. 4Import — fills are grouped into round-trip trades with realized P&L.
  5. 5Or connect a broker via SnapTrade (Pro) for automatic daily sync.
