ChartRecap tutorials
Short, practical walkthroughs of the whole workflow — from your first snapshot to a reviewable edge. Each one is a couple of minutes.
Getting started with ChartRecap
1:55Create a free account, personalize your dashboard, and take your first chart snapshot — the whole loop in under two minutes.
- 1Sign up free with Google or email — no card, instant access.
- 2Pick a few symbols you trade so your dashboard isn't blank.
- 3Set your timezone so trade times and the calendar are accurate.
- 4Hit Snapshot to capture your first chart — it becomes a journal entry.
- 5Open Analytics to see your stats start to build.
Capture a chart from TradingView (Alt+S)
2:25Journal the exact chart you're looking at on TradingView in one keystroke — symbol, timeframe, and candle attached automatically.
- 1In TradingView, set up the chart for the trade you took.
- 2Press Alt+S to copy the chart's snapshot link.
- 3In ChartRecap, paste the link into the capture box (or use the browser extension for one-keystroke capture).
- 4Confirm the parsed symbol/timeframe and save it to your journal.
- 5Link the snapshot to the trade so the chart context stays with it.
Log and review a trade
3:05Record a trade with entry, exit, stop, and your playbook rules — then see plan-vs-execution scoring and what discipline cost you.
- 1Click 'Log trade' and enter symbol, direction, entry, exit, size, and stop.
- 2Pick the playbook/setup and check off which rules you actually followed.
- 3Add a setup grade and how you felt (calm, rushed, revenge…).
- 4Save — your R-multiple and P&L compute automatically.
- 5Open the trade to see plan-vs-execution adherence.
Read your analytics
6:04Tour the Recap Score, equity curve, win/loss, expectancy, the discipline guardrails, and your streak on Analytics — then open Reports for the filterable breakdowns that show which setups actually pay.
- 1Open Analytics — the Recap Score summarizes win rate, profit factor, consistency, and drawdown control.
- 2Read the equity curve and the win/loss split.
- 3Check the Discipline guardrails: no-stop trades, max-loss breaches, and your streak.
- 4Open Reports for the filterable breakdowns — performance by setup, tag, day of week, and hour.
- 5Filter by date, account, and symbol to compare live, paper, and funded without blending them.
Import trades from your broker
1:46Bring in your history via CSV (IBKR, Thinkorswim, Webull, Schwab, moomoo) or a SnapTrade connection (Pro) — trades import as fills so scaled positions stay accurate.
- 1Export a trades/orders CSV from your broker.
- 2In ChartRecap, choose 'Import broker CSV' and pick your broker (or use the moomoo importer).
- 3Map the columns if prompted, then preview the detected trades.
- 4Import — fills are grouped into round-trip trades with realized P&L.
- 5Or connect a broker via SnapTrade (Pro) for automatic daily sync.
